Pallabi Bhowmick
Hi there!
I'm a Ph.D. student in Informatics, being advised by Prof. Erik Stolterman Bergqvist at Indiana University, Bloomington with an MS in Informatics from Technical University of Munich, Germany and a B. Tech. in Computer science from India.
My research interest is focused on developing IoT toolkits to support older adults in improving their social communication and in enabling them to maintain their independence with the help of technology. Older adults are an increasing part of the global population and they frequently report of social isolation. I am primarily focusing on rural older adults and investigating how older adults check-in with each other and how we can facilitate an easy and convenient way of check-in on their loved ones using hardware toolkits, thereby empowering them to be more socially connected.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on a few interesting projects that I’m pleased to share. Feel free to browse through my portfolio, and get in touch if you have a project in mind that you’d like to explore together! :)

Portfolio of Work
I have been fortunate enough to be a part of a wide range of works spanning IoT development, Design Thinking, UI development, improving healthcare with image-guided surgeries and more.
Here's a glimpse of all of them. Hope you enjoy going through them! :)
