Pallabi Bhowmick

Hi there!

I'm a Ph.D. student in Informatics, being advised by Prof. Erik Stolterman Bergqvist at Indiana University, Bloomington with an MS in Informatics from Technical University of Munich, Germany and a B. Tech. in Computer Science from India.
My research interest is focused on the design and development of IoT systems to adress social isolation among older adults, support them in improving their social communication and in enabling them to maintain their independence with the help of technology. I am primarily investigating how tangible technologies and hardware toolkits can potentially provide a more accessible, intuitive, and familiar interface for older adults, thereby enabling older adults to be active participants in the communication process, address bias and ageism, and encourage technology adoption.

I’ve had the opportunity to work on a few interesting projects that I’m pleased to share. Feel free to browse through my portfolio, and get in touch if you have a project in mind that you’d like to explore together! :)
